Suspect Arrested in Robbery, Shootings of Mulberry Clerks

Kimani Richye James, of 1315 W. Ball St., is charged with two counts of armed hijacking and two counts of attempted first-decidedly murder in the shootings and rip-off Friday at Prima's Stow away in Mulberry.

Hillsborough deputies have also charged him with auto pocketing.

The car used during the robbery, a stolen Toyota Camry, was found in Vegetable City on Saturday. It had been stolen from Pinellas County on Tuesday, the Polk County Sheriff's Workplace said.

The car was seen in video watch accompanying a Dodge pickup sundries during a burglary of an Ace Hardware department store in Lithia about 1:15 a.m. on Friday. During that burglary 25 to 30 handguns were stolen.

The stolen Dodge stock was found in Plant City about 2 p.m. Friday, the Sheriff's Purpose said. Fingerprints were captivated from the Dodge truck and from inside the Prima convenience cooperative store, and were found to be those of James.

Hillsborough deputies served a search mandate at James' home tardily Saturday but he wasn't there. They called him on his apartment phone and he agreed to go through them at the Farmer's Market in Lodge City. James was arrested and booked into the Hillsborough County Can early Sunday.
